 Hotsite.

In today’s global economy where online transactions are completed in seconds, email messages are delivered in minutes, and the business day never ends, technology users are coming to expect uninterrupted access to virtually all IT-based business processes. When disappointed by a service interruption or an IT outage, users can be harshly unforgiving. Despite this reality, many organizations maintain an outdated approach to business continuity. As a result, they put themselves at tremendous risk of revenue loss, decreased profitability, brand erosion, legal liability, and other costs that can arise from service interruptions.

In today’s business environment, reliance on information processing systems continues to grow on an almost daily basis. Information systems, which once aided a company in doing business, have now become the business itself. As companies become more reliant on critical information systems, the potential disruption to the business due to a loss of data becomes even greater. There are many threats that organizations face today when it comes to the reliability and viability of their data. Logical corruption, or loss of data due to threats such as virus and software bugs, can be protected by ensuring there is a viable copy of data available at all times. Performing regularly scheduled backups of the organizations data typically protects partially against logical types of data loss depending on the frequency of backup procedure. Other more serious threats may result in unavailable systems and may be contributed to component failure or natural disaster that will affect the entire IT infrastructure.

To ensure true continuity for core business operations, companies need to take a more pervasive and proactive approach to Information Technology related service continuity implementation. Commitment to continuity must be ingrained at every level of the organization and be reflected in the IT infrastructure and operations. Faced with these challenges, all institutions should consider engaging a trusted vendor who can help them respond successfully to the new business imperative.

Today’s businesses requirements demand a brief restoration period of critical business functions, and this brief restoration period prevents long outages of service that result in greater hardship to their business functions. NetEx Disaster Recovery and Hotsite Service allow restoration of critical business functions within the predetermined time limits backed by a NetEx service level agreement.

NetEx Network Operation Center as a customer Hotsite

NetEx maintains a facility ready to assume processing responsibility immediately after an outage of our client’s IT regular functions. The Hotsite contains equipment ready to assume all hardware functions and an influx of personnel to operate the equipment. The Hotsite therefore, begins total processing of critical IT functions in matter of minutes.

While operational continuity of critical systems has never been simple or inexpensive, disaster recovery is more achievable and economical today than ever before. NetEx has achieved this through the development of new in-house methodologies combined with the utilization of modern hosting facilities and technologies.

As businesses rely more heavily on electronically stored data and as regulatory pressures force companies to protect data for longer periods of time, business continuity and disaster recovery plans will continue to impact corporations large and small. It is during these unpredictable disruptions or catastrophic disasters that businesses risk losing competitive advantage by not having taken the appropriate measures to prevent loss of information availability. In the world of IT, mitigating this risk involves pursuing a disaster recovery.

Just as the levels of protection for logical and component failures have grown, so has the reliance on the information systems being protected. Many companies now realize that logical and local protection is no longer enough to guarantee that the organization will continue to be accessible. This loss can stem from planned downtime such as site maintenance to unplanned downtime such as power or cooling loss to natural disasters such as fire and flooding to acts of terrorism or war. The loss of a complete data center facility would so greatly affect an organizations capability to continue to function.

With effective Hotsite implementations, business continuance can be ensured in the face of any kind of adversity. The key is finding a disaster recovery approach that leverages heterogeneous resources, is easily adaptable to existing business operations, protects against both physical failures as well as data corruption, cost-effective, and is, equally important, done by people who know your business needs and you already know and trust. This is what exactly NetEx is offering as a Hotsite and disaster recovery solution to its clients.

Why Choosing NetEx for Hotsite Implementations?

NetEx Hotsite is a facility ready to assume processing responsibility immediately after an outage in one of our client’s IT regular functions. The Hotsite contains equipment ready to assume all hardware functions and an influx of personnel to operate the equipment. NetEx Hotsite is a building already equipped with the processing capability and other services needed in order to immediately recover from a complete site outage. The site is normally equipped and configured similar to our client site.

NetEx Hotsite and disaster recovery service generally is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The primary advantage of NetEx Hotsite is the speed of recovery compare to cost of ownership. NetEx has achieved this trough highly trained staff and custom implementation of Hotsite. We are monitoring the systems 24 X 7 and have engineers on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week around the clock.

Built for Success

The NetEx Network Operation Center (NNOC) in Vienna, Virginia is a state-of-the-art facility constructed specifically for the mission-critical environment. The building houses the Hotsite has 24 x 7 surveillance and administered either locally or remotely. The Hotsite center is a restricted access area that requires the appropriate cardkey and biometrics to gain entry. The Hotsite center has a separate zone alarm with cellular backup. Air conditioning is maintained by separate climate control and backup AC. All computers are protected from spikes, power surges, and losses of power by redundant power supply systems backup. In the event of a major power outage, auxiliary power is provided via an external natural gas-powered generator, the Hotsite center is equipped by Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS). The hotsite center is also fireproof equipped with an FM-200 fire suppression mechanism. The Staff have been trained to act upon a disaster in a professional and timely manner.

Occasionally, service interruptions may occur. However, in addition to the Vienna Hotsite Center, NetEx also maintains a backup site for redundancy purposes in Falls Church, Virginia
